Vena Amoris

A performative work, Amator portrays the correspondence of gesture, the subconscious and the physical act of playing piano. Grace’s pieces extend pre-composed motifs through improvisation; the piano becomes a conduit for speech. In a series of musical offerings, the nuances of internal and public conversation are presented through an intuitive approach to melody, rhythm, dynamics, points of rest and silence. This collection of works were recorded by sound engineer and producer Jesse Oberin in the intimate setting of Grace's bedroom in Northcote, Melbourne. Filmed by Woodrow Wilson.
