Music Company: Grace Ferguson | Aarti Jadu | Aera (Early Show)

2021-02-18 18:00:00 - 2021-02-18 21:00:00

Colour Nightclub - 229 Queensbury Street Carlton, VIC

Music Company make their Colour debut with a warm welcome into the physical after an eternal presence through screens and headphones last year.

The label found an era defining album with Grace Ferguson’s Voler – a vivid, and unapologetically introspective space that many found a home inside their homes within. Grace went on to collaborate and curate performances with the Isolation Improvisation Collective, a group initiative that took the mundane and made it otherworldly.

As the year drew to a close, the first and second outings of the Vector Fields compilations arrived, receiving much acclaim for the diverse array of 34 artists and their sounds between them.

Aera’s enticing ‘Clay’ left many holding their breath for a return, and Aarti Jadu’s microtonal banger ‘[TBC]’ remains one of the most slept on pieces of Australia’s audio avant garde.
